Dan Holland began training Eishin-Ryu Iaido in January of 1998 under Nicklaus Suino Sensei. His interests in the Traditional martial arts soon took him to Aiki-Jujutsu (taught by the late Jeff Friedlis Sensei), Kodokan Judo and Nihon Jujutsu. In May of 2004, he sought instruction in Neijar, the Internal Family of Chinese Martial Arts.

Dan Holland is the Instructor of Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu Iaido Nihon Jujutsu, and Kodokan Judo at the Japanese Martial Arts Center. He is also a member of the SMAA and IMAF .

Apart from teaching, he is heavily involved in the martial arts as a student. He makes frequent trips to Ann Arbor to train with Nicklaus Suino Sensei and attends seminars around the country.
